To add a video to their series on Easter, Life Teen sought me out for a unique take on Resurrection. I collaborated with Courtney Kiolbassa to write a script that accomplished their message through a community and hobby I was passionate about: skateboarding.

We prioritized inclusion by focusing on a single, specific story, ensuring the locations and experiences were true to both Catholicism and the skate community.

Our lead actor, Eric, had never acted before. I originally tried to hired through talent agencies in the DFW area, but zero actors could skate. I hit the streets.

The result is a video that captures a story of resilience, courage, and — in a subtle way — resurrection.

Eric was in Deep Ellum, Texas, skating in an alleyway with "no skating" signs. I ended up skating with him for a bit, and then asked him if he had ever acted. He said “no”.
Our posters at skate spots and parks got us a bunch of responses, but no one seemed like the right fit ... Until, after many Instagram DMs, Eric finally agreed to be part of the video.
