“Explanation” Animation Series

SFX: Stas Stanislav, Nic Liberatore “Explanation” is a video series that animates concepts from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, a religious text.

During the pilot video, I acted as the creative director, developing the core visual identity for the series: a simple color-block style combining 2D and 3D elements that works for both narrative animation and more abstract, complex theological concepts. I participate in ongoing support for the series as a storyboard designer and animator.

Visualizing theological concepts is never easy, so I’m proud to have developed a consistent yet flexible style that continues to make large topics accessible to wide audiences. In fact, these videos (and the “Proclamation” videos I also worked on) are being translated into 5 additional languages to broaden the series’ reach.
